TSA worker fired after slipping ‘you ugly’ note to passenger
A New York airport security guard has been fired after she passed a note to a passenger with the message “You ugly!”
A TSA agent has been fired after she handed a passenger a note with those words “You ugly!” scrawled on it.
Neal Strassner was going through a security checkpoint at Greater Rochester International Airport in June when the employee passed him the folded note, bearing a huge smirk on her face.
Strassner didn’t think much of it and continued toward his gate. That’s when he says the woman yelled out: “You gonna open the note?”
As he opened the note and read it, the woman can be seen almost falling over with laughter.
Speaking to WROC, Mr Strassner said that he didn’t know what to make of the incident, explaining: “I got handed a note, I didn’t really think too much of it. I just kept going. I had 10 minutes to get to my gate.
“That’s what I was focused on and I kept going, the woman called back to me are you going to open that? Are you going to look or something like that?”
Mr Strassner called the airport that afternoon to file a complaint.
He also made a Freedom of Information request to the airport in a bid to obtain the CCTV footage which was successful.
The TSA said the woman worked for a contractor.
“TSA holds contractors to the highest ethical standards and has zero tolerance for this type of behavior,” the agency said in a statement.
